You will get royalties for six weeks once you finish a book. The most money can be made from 'Romance Novels'. If your skill is high enough, you will be able to write more novel types/genres. When you write, your skill will automatically advance. They will not bring you too much Simoleons. Write fiction novels as they take the least amount of time. However, you will be given the option to save your neighborhood before enabling cheats so you can resume the game later without cheats enabled.
