Persia will acquire lands from the Tabarestan area of the Persia region (Persia subcontinent, Asia continent) in 977, and by March 1, 978 gain the main holdings of the Persia region by acquiring the combined lands of Shia Fars and Iraq. The monarchy emerges from Khawarij Oman in 967, with cores, bordering fellow Shia Qarmatians southwest, Khawarij Oman south and surrounded by the waters of the Arabian Sea in every other direction.
